Discussion on the development technology of EPS foaming plastic packaging products

with the rapid development of science and technology, human society pays more and more attention to environmental protection. As a signatory of the "Montreal agreement", China is stepping up efforts to restrict and eliminate a number of products that seriously pollute the environment. In this regard, China promulgated the "fixed waste environmental protection law" on April 1st, 1996, which stipulates the principle of "three modernizations", that is, to promote the recycling, reduction and harmlessness of solid waste. EPS foamed plastic products are one of the main products that pollute the environment, and it is imperative to eliminate them. However, as the first choice of packaging materials, EPS foam products have superior packaging performance and low price, so far there is no more ideal product to replace

at present, the main alternative products are pulp molding industrial products, shockproof lining packaging products. It is made of waste newspaper, carton paper and other plant fibers as the main raw materials, which are crushed by hydraulic machinery, calibrated by special measuring tools for mold vacuum, and then dried. Its product application fields can cover electronics, mechanical parts, industrial watches, electrical tools, household appliances, computers, glass, ceramics and foamed plastic products, agricultural products and other industries. However, because its products are too dense, the seismic and impact resistance performance is much lower than that of EPS materials. The anti-seismic and impact resistance of the packaging products is mainly guaranteed by the geometric structure of the products. Due to the influence of mold structure and processing, the development of the products is greatly restricted. At present, only small packaging liners can be made, while EPS foamed plastic products are still needed for the packaging liners and filling of large household appliances. This technical problem has not been effectively solved so far. At the same time, the cost of pulp molded products is higher than that of FPS foam plastic products, which also greatly limits the development of pulp molded products

in recent years, a new type of packaging material, plant fiber foaming packaging products and its molding technology are being studied and developed. This product is made of plant fiber (waste newspaper, carton paper, other plant fiber materials, etc.) and starch additive materials. It has the advantages of no pollution to the environment, simple production process, low cost, wide source of raw materials, and better shock resistance and isolation performance than pulp molded products. This material can not only be made into shockproof interior, but also replace EPS $ J as filling particle object, and its effect is basically equivalent to that of EPS products. The research on the manufacture and mechanism of foaming plant fiber cushioning packaging materials at home and abroad has achieved phased results to varying degrees. The samples made in the laboratory are enough to show that the development of this product has great market potential. the performance characteristics of plant fiber foaming products are as follows:

1) the main raw materials of plant fiber foaming packaging products are waste paper, bagasse, wheat straw, straw and other fiber materials, as well as industrial starch, which will not cause obstacles to the environment and recycling, and is conducive to the product export of manufacturers

(3) low comprehensive cost. Compared with pulp molding products, plant fiber foaming products have simple process, no need of complex shape forming mold and hot pressing mold, short production time and cycle, low energy consumption and raw material cost

(4) the anti-static and anti-corrosion performance is better than that of EPS firing materials. 3 manufacturing process and equipment characteristics

compared with foaming plastic, plant fiber foaming materials have a relatively simple production process without multiple foaming and cooling processes. There are two main foaming processes for plant fiber foaming products: the use of chemical foaming agents and regional chemical foaming agents

plant fiber foaming products without foaming agent are old book waste; Paper or other fibers and starch are used as raw materials. The foaming products do not need the foaming agent of the chemical plant, but are foamed by the action of steam. The production purpose of the products will not damage the environment. The used products can be treated like ordinary garbage, and can also be recycled and reprocessed. In terms of economic benefits, fiber foamed products are cheaper than foamed plastics for the same amount of packaging materials, and have broad application prospects. (to be continued)
